Judges List Criteria for 2008

A Roll of Honor

Criteria: Senior Judges who are not necessarily currently active, and other Judges whom the Committee feel, for various reasons, should be included on this List.

A1 List

Criteria/Qualifications: All persons whom the Association will support to award Kennel Club Challenge Certificates, and who have been previously approved by the Kennel Club to award Challenge Certificates in the breed.

A2 List

Specialists
Criteria: All persons who fulfill all the requirements of the A3 List for Specialists, have the support of the Association and who have already been assessed in accordance with Kennel Club requirements and would, in principle, be approved by the Kennel Club to award CCs.

Non-breed specialists
Criteria: All persons who fulfill all the requirements of the A3 List for Non-Breed Specialists, have the support of the Association and who have already been assessed in accordance with Kennel Club requirements and would, in principle, be approved by the Kennel Club to award CCs.

A3 List

Specialists
Criteria: All persons with a minimum of seven years judging experience in the breed and whom the Committee of the Association will support to award Challenge Certificates but who, as yet, have not been approved by the Kennel Club.
Qualifications: (At the discretion of the Committee)
a) To have judged at a Breed Club Open show.
b) To have judged a minimum of 80 dogs of the breed at Championship shows where Challenge Certificates are not on offer, or at Open shows.
c) To have attended at least one Breed Specific Judging Seminar run in accordance with the relevant Kennel Club Code of Best Practice and passed an exam and/or assessment where applicable.
d) To have successfully passed the Associations’s Judges Assessment with a minimum pass of 75%.
e) To have attended a seminar given by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer and passed the relevant examination on Kennel Club Regulations and Judging Procedures.
f) To have attended a seminar given by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer on Conformation and Movement.
g) To have bred and /or owned a minimum of three dogs when they obtained their first entry in the Kennel Club Stud Book (Save in exceptional circumstances).
h) To have stewarded at 12 shows.
i) To have attended a Confirmation and Movement ‘Hands-On Assessment’ conducted by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer and passed the assessment. (KC Policy as of 1/7/2005).

Non-breed specialists
Criteria: All persons with a minimum of seven years judging experience in any one breed (to include five years in this breed) and whom the Committee of the Association will support to award Challenge Certificates but who, as yet, have not been approved by the Kennel Club.
Qualifications: (At the discretion of the Committee)
a) To have judged at a Breed Club Open show.
b) To have judged a minimum of 80 dogs of the breed at Championship shows where Challenge Certificates are not on offer, or at Open shows.
c) To have attended at least one Breed Seminar.
d) To have successfully passed the Associations’s Judges Assessment with a minimum pass of 75%.
e) To have awarded Challenge Certificates in at least one other breed.
f) To have bred and /or owned a minimum of three dogs of any breed when they obtained their first entry in the Kennel Club Stud Book (Save in exceptional circumstances).
